Arf! Hello, I am a beautiful Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a long, luxurious coat. It’s natural and untrimmed, gorgeous… or so I’m told. Humans are always mistaking me for a female because I am so “pretty,” but I’m not. Why do I bring this up? Because of my long and luxurious coat, I sometimes bring in dead leaves, twigs, mulch, and other outdoor items into the house. Typically these items get stuck to the carpet right inside the door. My humans don’t always want to get out a whole, giant vacuum beast to take care of the debris so sometimes they just use a hand vac. Here is a list of the best handheld vacuum for pet hair that my humans would consider buying when our current one stops working. It smells funny so I hope that happens soon …
These come in pretty hand for smaller jobs. Another good time to use a hand vac is after a long petting session that loosens up my fur and leaves a little pile of it on the floor. Some hand vacuums are better for pet hair than others.

Anyway, on to hand vacs! First, let’s take a look at the Oreck Super Deluxe Handheld Vacuum. This one comes with a shoulder strap, a hose, and an assortment of tools. It’s like a canister/handheld vacuum beast! That’s pretty nifty. According to reviews, it is a pretty good, lightweight vacuum. It is pretty versatile with having longer hoses and things to reach different locations. If you lived in a small enough place it might be the only vacuum you need.
Next, the Shark Rocket! Isn’t that just a cool name? Anyway, this vacuum beast also has a hose to reach more locations. It also has the TruePet Motorized Brush, I mean we are here to talk pet hair and not just outdoor debris. The brush is made to clean deep and is great for stairs, car interiors, and couches. I like sitting on the couch. Especially if I’m cold and there is a human to snuggle with on the couch. This vacuum beast comes with washable filters too! From the reviews, it looks like the Shark Rocket works quite well on pet hair.
Now, we have the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser… I’m not sure I like the sound of that. Will it pull all the fur right off me?! I don’t want to be hairless! Oh, phew. My human just assured me that it just “erases” pet hair off the furniture and floor, not off me. That’s a relief. This hand vacuum has two different nozzles one specifically for pet hair and upholstery and one that is more for cleaning up harder things like kitty litter or seeds. According to reviews, I’d say it does a great job with pet hair.
